Chester Corrie Consulting is a business formed by Robert Hopkin; the name comes from two of his most loved partners in his life… yes, you guessed it, they were two of this man’s best friends — his dogs! So before Robert gets a chance to introduce himself… just who were Chester and Corrie?
Chester was a an adorable, reasonably well behaved Golden retriever — he was born in Aynho, Oxfordshire in 1985 when Robert was a school teacher (Maths and P.E.) at Magdalen College School, Brackley, Northamptonshire. When Robert joined the Royal Air Force in 1988, he just had to come along for the ride! Chester became famous across many stations during the late 80s and the 90s including the following: RAF Brize Norton; TTTE, RAF Cottesmore, RAF Hereford; RAF Lyneham; HQ STC, RAF High Wycombe; RAF Marham; HQ No1 Gp, RAF Upavon; RAF Wattisham; RAF Wittering (these are all historically accurate station names — several are now Joint Service establishments or have changed use and name). Corrie was an equally adorable, yet occasionally truculent, West Highland White Terrier — born in 1991 in Hereford when Robert was serving at RAF Hereford just before being promoted to squadron leader. Like Chester, she also enjoyed a nomadic life in the Royal Air Force; she went on to see life at ankle height at RAF Hereford; DNBCC, Winterbourne Gunner; RAF Staff College, RAF Bracknell (latterly the Joint Services Command and Staff College); Department for Initial Officer Training, RAF College Cranwell; RAF Cosford; HQ PTC, RAF Innsworth. Corrie also became the best friend to several of Robert's work colleagues, so much so that his sole purpose in life seemed to be that of her driver, maybe she was a senior air officer in a former life — who knows? Although she would happily spend the day away from his office, she was still a loving, fun–filled, cheeky and adorable pet and friend. Click here to find out more about Corrie.
